Gentle, sustained pressure relaxes contracted muscles, improves blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles. Your Bend chiropractor will apply pressure to one specific area for at least a minute to two minutes until the body releases the restriction on its own. As the restriction releases, you might experience spontaneous movements also called “unwinding.”
